-The Cardinals scored four runs in the fourth inning to beat former teammate Kyle Lohse for the third time this season, 4-2 Sunday at Busch Stadium. The win went to rookie John Gast, who is now 2-0 in two major-league starts.

-The Cardinals will promote another rookie, left-hander Tyler Lyons, from Triple A Memphis to take the place of Jaime Garcia and start Wednesday night's game in San Diego. Garcia was officially placed on the disabled list on Sunday, with Mitchell Boggs rejoining the team. The Cardinals will have to make another roster move before Wednesday to activate Lyons.

-Shelby Miller will put his 1.40 ERA and 5-2 record on the line Monday night as he pitches the opener of the Cardinals' three-game series in San Diego. Former Cardinal Jason Marquis is set to start for the Padres.
