- The Cardinals acquired starting pitcher Justin Masterson from the Cleveland Indians today in exchange for Double A outfielder and former first-round pick James Ramsey. The team said that Masterson will be the starter for Saturday's game against the Brewers at Busch Stadium.

- Joe Kelly with pitch for the Cardinals in tonight's game in San Diego against Jesse Hahn.

- The Blues announced today they have signed free agent forward Peter Mueller to a one-year, two-way contract. A five-year NHL veteran, Mueller played in Switzerland last season.
