- Joe Kelly had to leave the game with a hamstring injury and two errors led to four unearned runs as the Brewers won the final game of the series against the Cardinals 5-1 Wednesday in Milwaukee. Kelly will return to St. Louis for an MRI on Thursday.

- The Cardinals' road trip continues Thursday night in Washington, with Adam Wainwright scheduled to pitch against Taylor Jordan.

- David Backes and Vladimir Sobotka were on the ice for the Blues' practice Wednesday but coach Ken Hitchcock said there will be a lot of game-time decisions about who will be in the lineup for the opening game against the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the playoffs Thursday night at Scottrade Center. The Blues are hopeful that Backes Sobotka, T.J. Oshie and Vladimir Tarasenko will all be medically cleared to play.
