- The Blues placed forward Jaden Schwartz on injured reserve Wednesday and said his status was "week to week" because of a foot injury suffered in Tuesday night's win over the Kings. To replace Schwartz the Blues recalled Dmitrij Jaskin from the Chicago Wolves.

- The Blues will play the Kings again tonight in Los Angeles. Martin Brodeur is expected to start in goal and T.J. Oshie is expected to rejoin the team after missing Tuesday night's game because of the death of his aunt

- Cardinals manager Mike Matheny announced Wednesday he will wear uniform number 26 next season - and the special reasons he asked Trevor Rosenthal to give up the number. Matheny had previously said he would give his old number 22 to new outfielder Jason Heyward. Rosenthal will switch to number 44, previously worn by Carlos Martinez. Martinez will wear number 18 as a tribute to late teammate Oscar Taveras.

- Mike Crawford came off the bench to score 19 points to lead the Saint Louis Billikens to a 75-69 victory over Texas - Pan American Wednesday night at Chaifetz Arena. Ash Yacoubou added 17 as the Billikens improved to 7-4 on the season.
