- Cardinals manager Mike Matheny announced today he will wear uniform number 26 next season - and the special reasons he asked Trevor Rosenthal to give up the number. Matheny had previously said he would give his old number 22 to new outfielder Jason Heyward. Rosenthal will switch to number 44, previously worn by Carlos Martinez. Martinez will wear number 18 as a tribute to late teammate Oscar Taveras.

- Vladimir Tarasenko recorded his second hat trick of the season as the Blues rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 Tuesday night at Scottrade Center, extending theiir winning streak to five games. Tarasenko became the first Blues player to record two hat tricks in the same season since Brett Hull did it during the 1996-97 season.

- The Blues played without forward T.J. Oshie, who missed the game for what the team announced was "family reasons."

- The Saint Louis University Billikens will host Texas-Pan American tonight at Chaifetz Arena.
