- Jon Jay was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the ninth inning Tuesday night to give the Cardinals their second consecutive walk-off win over the Reds, 5-4, at Busch Stadium.

- The Cardinals won for only the second time this season when they trailed after seven innings. Daniel Descalso's pinch-hit single in the eighth tied the game 4-4, The Cardinals moved a season-high 11 games over .500.

- Lance Lynn will get the start for Wednesday night's game as the Cardinals go for the sweep of the series against the Reds, who will start Johnny Cueto.
