-The Cardinals placed left-handed pitcher Jaime Garcia on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of shoulder discomfort and are concerned that he might need surgery. Right-handed Mitchell Boggs will rejoin the Cardinals on Sunday from Memphis. The Cardinals will need to find a starter to replace Garcia before his next scheduled turn in the rotation on Wednesday.

-The Brewers scored two runs in the 10th inning Saturday night to beat the Cardinals 6-4 at Busch Stadium. Joe Kelly took the loss. Rookie John Gast will make his second start on Sunday against former Cardinal Kyle Lohse in the final game of the series.
