- Led by Aramis Ramirez, the Brewers pounded Adam Wainwright for nine hits and seven runs Friday night en route to a 7-4 victory over the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in the opener of their three-game series, moving three games ahead of the Cardinals in the NL Central.

- Newly acquired Justin Masterson will make his Cardinals debut on Saturday against former Cardinal Kyle Lohse, while the Cardinals' other new pitcher, John Lackey, will start on Sunday.

- The Cardinals made two roster moves on Friday, recalling outfielder Shane Robinson from Memphis and optioning pitcher Carlos Martinez to the Triple A club. .

- Former Rams defensive back Aeneas Williams will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday. Williams is one of seven members of the Class of 2014. He starred for the Rams from 2001 to 2004 as part of a 14-year NFL career.
