(By Suzanne Corbett) –In recognition of baseball’s Hot Springs’s connection, this year was the official dedication of Hot Springs Historic Baseball Trail, designating it as the birthplace of spring baseball. An unusual historic designation that’s taken some baseball fans by surprise that was the result of intensive research inspired by the curious Hot Springs connection of Babe Ruth.

- Quarterback Maty Mauk directed two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter which rallied Missouri to a 21-14 win over Arkansas on Friday in Columbia to send the Tigers back to the SEC championship game. Missouri will play either Alabama or Mississippi State next Saturday in Atlanta.

- Vladimir Tarasenko scored with 40 seconds left in overtime to give the Blues a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers Friday night at Scottrade Center. The Blues trailed 2-1 before tying the game with two third-period goals. The Blues play in Minnesota tonight.

- The Saint Louis University Billikens lost 75-50 to Mississippi State Friday night in a tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas. They will play Bradley today in the consolation game.
