- Former Cardinal managers Tony La Russa and Joe Torre, and former Atlanta manager Bobby Cox, have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. All three were unanimous choices by the special Expansion Era committee. The announcement was made this morning at baseball's winter meetings in Orlando, Fla.
- The Missouri Tigers accepted an invitation to play in the Cotton Bowl after their 11-2 season. They will meet a former Big 12 opponent, Oklahoma State, in the game on Jan. 3 in Dallas. The Tigers last played in the Cotton Bowl in 2008 against Arkansas.
- The Rams lost 30-10 to the Cardinals Sunday in Arizona. The Rams had trouble generating offense as quarterback Kellen Clemens threw two interceptions and was sacked four times. On defense, the Rams could not stop wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who caught 12 passes for 96 yards.
