- The Blues got goals from Vladimir Tarasenko, his fourth of the pre-season, David Backes and Joakim Lindstrom en route to their first win Tuesday night, 3-1 over Carolina at Scottrade Center. The Blues are now 1-3-1 in the pre-season with two games remaining before they open the regular season on Oct. 9 at home against the New York Rangers.

- Major League Baseball has set the game times for the first two games of the Cardinals-Dodgers Division Series. Game one will begin at 5:37 p.m. St. Louis time on Friday night and game two will begin at 8:37 p.m. on Saturday night. Game one, featuring a pitching matchup of Adam Wainwright against Clayton Kershaw, will be televised by Fox Sports 1 and game two by the MLB Network.

 - Wainwright was named the National League Pitcher of the Month for September on Tuesday after going 5-0 with a 1.38 ERA during the month, including his 20th win of the season. It is the second time in his career that Wainwright has won the monthly award.
